The ePTFE ring gasket chemical resistant uses a biaxially oriented expanded PTFE structure that combines high compressibility with low cold flow. This construction eliminates the stiff, unyielding nature of conventional skived PTFE and allows the gasket to conform to worn or misaligned flange faces. The product is made from 100% virgin PTFE resin and contains no fillers, binders, or pigments that could contaminate process streams. It withstands full vacuum at elevated temperatures and does not harden with age. The gasket is suitable for glass-lined steel, fiberglass-reinforced plastic, and ceramic flanges where low bolt load is critical. Because the material is inherently hydrophobic and non-porous, it does not wick aggressive media into the flange joint. The ring gasket performs reliably in chemical processing, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, oil and gas, and water treatment applications. Its conformability allows sealing of standard raised-face, flat-face, and full-face flanges without requiring a perfect surface finish. Installation is simplified because no adhesive or release agent is needed; the gasket can be repositioned during assembly without damage. For ASME B16.5 flanges, recommended bolt torque typically ranges from 20 to 120 N·m depending on bolt diameter, gasket thickness, and lubrication.
