Chemical transfer lines, reactor feed piping, and solvent distribution networks all share one critical requirement: a joint seal that does not degrade, shrink, or leak under aggressive media and temperature swings. Our expanded PTFE joint sealant tape for chemical pipe is produced from 100% virgin PTFE that undergoes a controlled expansion process, creating a highly compressible, fibrillated structure that conforms tightly to flange faces, threaded connections, and pump housings. This material serves as an ePTFE sealant tape for threaded joint applications where low bolt load and damaged threads demand a soft, form-in-place gasket. For larger flanges and irregular sealing surfaces, the same chemistry is supplied as a PTFE expanded tape for sealing that bridges pitting, weld seams, and minor misalignment. As a dedicated joint sealant tape PTFE supplier, we maintain strict density and thickness tolerances, and our chemical resistant ePTFE sealant tape is validated against common industrial chemicals, including nitric acid, sodium hypochlorite, and methylene chloride.


Expanded PTFE Joint Sealant Tape is supplied as a soft, pliable ribbon with no adhesive or backing liner, which makes it ideal for awkward flange geometries and overhead installations. The tape is manufactured from skived, expanded PTFE and is calendered to a uniform thickness, then slit to the required width. Because the material contains no pigments, fillers, or process aids, it meets FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 for food contact and is suitable for high-purity chemical, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor applications where leachables must be minimized. During installation, the tape should be applied with a 50% overlap on clean, dry surfaces, and the flange bolts should be tightened in a star pattern to about 25–30 N·m for a DN50 flange. The tape compresses to form a dense, impermeable barrier that does not age, harden, or become brittle over time.
