high density ePTFE sealant tape

For severe service piping and equipment, high density ePTFE sealant tape provides a reliable, long-life seal where conventional PTFE thread tapes and paste fall short. The tape is produced from 100% virgin expanded PTFE and then calendered to a high-density structure, giving it low gas permeability, high tensile strength, and excellent resistance to creep and aggressive chemicals. This makes it a dependable ePTFE joint sealant tape for industrial pipe in chemical plants, refineries, and power stations. Installers also select it as an expanded PTFE thread sealant tape for stainless steel and alloy threads, where galling and seizing are major concerns. In hydraulic and pneumatic systems, the product performs as a precision ePTFE seal tape for hydraulic joint solution that seals parallel threads, tapered threads, and flanged connections with equal reliability. As an experienced PTFE joint sealant tape supplier, we manufacture each roll under strict ISO 9001 quality control and offer traceable batch numbers so maintenance engineers can qualify the material for critical service.

High Density ePTFE Sealant Tape is designed for flange and thread sealing applications that demand tighter dimensional control than standard expanded PTFE tape. The higher density limits cold flow under load and improves seal stability in cyclic temperature conditions. It is soft enough to fill scratches and waviness on glass-lined steel, plastic, and ceramic flanges, yet dense enough to survive bolt loads of up to 200 bar on equivalent pressure systems. Because it is chemically inert, the tape can be used with virtually all process fluids from concentrated acids and caustics to solvents, steam, and food-grade media. It is also non-toxic, non-flammable, and leaves no curing time or messy cleanup. Standard dimensions can be customized to reduce waste and installation time. Rolls are available in continuous lengths with release paper liners or as pre-cut gaskets. The tape is typically applied by removing the liner, centering it over the flange or thread, and compressing the joint to the manufacturer’s torque recommendation. No special surface preparation is required beyond removing loose debris and old gasket material. The product withstands full vacuum service and is unaffected by UV, ozone, and weathering, which makes it suitable for outdoor piping and offshore platforms. When selecting a tape thickness, use 0.5 mm for smooth metal flanges and 2.0 mm or 3.0 mm for warped plastic or glass-lined surfaces. The tape must be applied in a single continuous layer with joints crossed at a 45° angle to avoid leak paths. For threaded connections, wrap the tape in the direction of the thread. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The material has an unlimited shelf life under normal conditions and does not degrade or harden over time.
