Selecting the right gasket material is critical for preventing fugitive emissions, reducing maintenance downtime, and protecting flange surfaces. As a specialist ePTFE gasket sheet manufacturer, we produce dimensionally stable, chemically resistant sealing sheets that meet the requirements of modern process plants across chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and water treatment industries. Our expanded PTFE technology converts standard PTFE resin into a fibrous matrix with higher tensile strength and better conformability than skived or molded PTFE sheets. For bolted pipe joints, the expanded PTFE gasket sheet for pipe flange offers a conformable seal on raised-face and flat-face flanges, requiring only moderate bolt load to achieve a tight seal. In thermal cycling services and steam systems, the ePTFE sheet gasket high temperature grade maintains flexibility and tensile strength without becoming brittle. For large-diameter flanges, manways, and pump housings, our expanded PTFE sealing sheet provides a balanced combination of compressibility and blow-out resistance. In aggressive chemical duty, the PTFE expanded sheet for chemical industry resists strong acids, bases, solvents, and oxidizing media without compromising seal integrity. All sheets are manufactured from 100% virgin PTFE resin and are regularly tested for thickness, density, tensile strength, and creep relaxation. Key product features are summarized below.
Our ePTFE gasket sheet is produced through a controlled paste-extrusion and expansion process that creates a highly fibrillated, microporous structure. This unique structure gives the ePTFE gasket sheet excellent conformability and a low sealing stress requirement, which is especially important for fragile flanges made from glass-lined steel, PTFE-lined pipe, or fiber-reinforced plastic. The expansion process is performed under tightly controlled temperature and speed parameters to create uniform porosity and a consistent fiber network. After expansion, the sheet is calendered to the target thickness and heat-treated to release internal stresses. Each production batch is sampled for thickness, density, tensile strength, elongation, compressibility, and recovery in accordance with ASTM F36, F38, and F152 test methods. The ePTFE gasket sheet contains no pigments, fillers, or adhesives, so it will not contaminate process fluids or promote corrosion on metal surfaces. It can be used in applications requiring FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 compliance or USP Class VI certification, and it performs reliably from cryogenic temperatures up to 260°C continuous service. Because the sheet is dimensionally stable and resistant to cold flow, it minimizes retorquing requirements and extends maintenance intervals in critical flanged connections. Standard dimensions include sheet sizes up to 1500 mm × 3000 mm and thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 6.0 mm, with custom thicknesses and pre-cut shapes available on request. For applications involving strong acids or high-purity media, the ePTFE gasket sheet can be supplied without adhesive backing to ensure a pure PTFE surface that will not leach ions or react with process fluids. A self-adhesive backing on one side is also available to simplify installation on large or vertical flanges. The table below lists the primary technical specifications for our standard ePTFE gasket sheet.
