The EPTFE sheet for flange sealing is engineered for low seating stress applications such as glass-lined steel, plastic flanges, ceramic pipes, and fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) ducting. It compresses readily under light bolt load, fills surface scoring, and reduces the risk of flange cracking in brittle systems. The material performs from full vacuum through medium-pressure classes and does not age or harden in storage, unlike some elastomer-bound fiber sheets. Its low friction surface also resists media adhesion, so the gasket can often be removed without scraping or damaging the flange face.

For flange assemblies above 16 bar or with continuous thermal cycling, a minimum sheet thickness of 2.0 mm is recommended. Sheets can be skived, kiss-cut, or waterjet-cut into gaskets with inside diameters from 15 mm to 3000 mm. When cutting the EPTFE sheet for flange sealing, use a sharp blade and allow a 3 mm inside diameter clearance from the flange bore to avoid flow media interference. All standard sheets are packaged flat or on rolls with a protective liner to prevent dust pickup and maintain surface cleanliness before installation.
