This architecture raises compressive strength, lowers deformation under load, and creates a harder bearing surface that resists scoring and extrusion. Typical mechanical properties include a density of 1.90–2.10 g/cm³, tensile strength of 18–25 MPa, elongation at break of 180–260%, and Shore D hardness of 60–65. The coefficient of friction against polished steel ranges from 0.08 to 0.12 under dry running conditions. Ekonol filled PTFE tubes operate continuously from -200°C to +260°C and withstand short-term exposure up to +280°C without losing structural integrity. Because the Ekonol filler is non-abrasive, these tubes do not chew up stainless steel shafts, titanium pump sleeves, or aluminum housings—a major advantage over glass-filled or carbon-filled alternatives. In terms of chemical resistance, Ekonol filled PTFE tubes are unaffected by nearly all industrial solvents, acids, caustics, and hydrocarbons from pH 0 to 14.
