This low wear PTFE tube PI filled product is manufactured through cold compression molding followed by programmed sintering, which prevents filler agglomeration and minimizes residual stress. The tight dispersion of polyimide particles creates a hard, non-abrasive bearing surface that maintains dimensional stability after temperature cycling from -196°C to +260°C. In dry-running pump bushings, food-grade sliding guides, and automotive steering seals, low wear PTFE tube PI filled reduces friction while protecting soft mating metals from galling and fretting. It has less than 0.5% moisture absorption, excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and most solvents, and meets FDA requirements for many food-contact applications.
