glass reinforced PTFE tubing high temperature

Glass reinforced PTFE tubing high temperature is a specialized fluoropolymer solution that combines the chemical inertness of virgin PTFE with a precisely controlled 15% glass fiber loading. This combination dramatically raises the mechanical strength, reduces creep, and improves dimensional stability at continuous operating temperatures up to 260°C (500°F). The material is non-flammable, self-lubricating, and maintains its flexibility even after prolonged thermal cycling. In aerospace platforms, our 15% glass fiber PTFE tube for aerospace is specified for fuel and hydraulic lines, wire harness protection, and high-temperature sensor housings because it resists jet fuel, hydraulic fluids, and de-icing chemicals. For general industrial use, we offer PTFE tube with 15% glass fiber filler in continuous lengths up to 100 meters and in inside diameters from 0.5 mm to 50 mm. As an experienced 15% glass filled PTFE tube manufacturer, we control every stage of compounding, extrusion, and quality testing to deliver consistent wall thickness and ovality. The superior fiberglass PTFE tube chemical resistance allows the tubing to handle concentrated mineral acids, strong bases, organic solvents, and oxidizing agents at elevated temperatures without degradation. This makes it a preferred alternative to stainless steel, PVDF, and PFA in corrosive environments where metal contamination or thermal expansion is a concern.

Glass reinforced PTFE tubing is produced using a proprietary paste extrusion process that uniformly disperses 15% glass fiber throughout the PTFE matrix. This ensures consistent mechanical properties along the entire length of the tube and eliminates weak spots that can occur with poorly mixed compounds. The tubing exhibits a tensile strength up to 35 MPa, which is significantly higher than unfilled PTFE, and its Shore D hardness of 60–65 provides better resistance to clamping and crushing forces. In high-temperature environments, the glass fiber reinforcement reduces creep and cold flow, allowing the tubing to maintain its cross-sectional profile under continuous pressure and thermal cycling. The product name Glass Reinforced PTFE Tubing is widely used in chemical processing plants, semiconductor fabrication equipment, and aerospace hydraulic systems. The tubing’s low coefficient of friction (0.05–0.08 dynamic) minimizes pressure drop in fluid transfer systems and prevents protein binding or particle adhesion in sanitary processes. Its non-porous surface does not support bacterial growth and can be cleaned with steam or aggressive sterilants without cracking. In electrical applications, the high dielectric strength (20–25 kV/mm) and volume resistivity greater than 1018 Ω·cm provide reliable insulation for high-frequency and high-voltage wiring. The material is also inherently flame retardant and meets UL 94 V-0 requirements, making it suitable for enclosed equipment where fire safety is critical. Because glass filled PTFE has a coefficient of linear thermal expansion of only 9–12 × 10-5 /°C, it closely matches the expansion rates of many metals, reducing stress at fittings and connectors during temperature swings. This property is especially valuable in aerospace and automotive applications where thermal cycling is severe. The tubing is available in coils of 50 m and 100 m, or as straight lengths cut to your specified tolerance. Custom printing, color coding, and laser marking are also available for identification in complex assemblies. The following list and table summarize the key product parameters.
