Our glass filled PTFE rod is produced by blending virgin PTFE resin with 25% E-glass fiber by weight, followed by compression molding and high-temperature sintering. The glass fiber is evenly distributed to improve compressive strength, reduce deformation under load, and increase wear resistance compared with unfilled PTFE. This grade is commonly selected when unfilled PTFE shows excessive cold flow or when components need electrical insulation combined with mechanical stability. The added glass reinforcement also lowers the coefficient of thermal expansion and improves dimensional stability in wet or high-humidity environments. Because glass fibers can be abrasive to cutting tools, we recommend carbide-tipped or diamond tooling and light depths of cut for machining.
